It was on the issue of migration that both American politicians – indirectly – mentioned our country for the first time this Thursday evening.
The Republican said that during his administration he has strengthened security at the US southern border. He noted that Biden has opened borders and allowed migrants to enter the country to commit crimes.
“We are living in a rat’s nest. They are killing our people in New York, in California, in all the states, because we don’t have a border anymore. Because of their ridiculous, crazy, stupid policies, people are coming in and killing our people.”
Biden responded by defending his bipartisan border control policies and reminding Trump that during his administration he separated children from their mothers and fathers and locked them in cages.
“When he was president (Trump), they took children from families, put them in cages, made sure families were separated (…) But now the number of crossings has decreased by 40%.”
In the fight against fentanyl, the billionaire emphasized that the Biden administration has seen a historic influx of drugs from the southern border.
He assured that during his mandate he conducted tough negotiations with regard to the neighboring country and “I got everything for free.”
“Drugs are coming from the border and that’s how the crisis started. The number of drugs crossing the border is the highest ever.
“What about Mexico? The programs I ran? Tough negotiations with Mexico, I got everything for nothing.”
Biden responded by saying that there are currently machines on the U.S. southern border that can detect the presence of fentanyl and that he would seek to implement them nationwide.
He said Mexico is working with his administration to stop the fentanyl trade at the border between the two countries.
“We have a machine that can detect fentanyl, it’s at the border, and we did that as part of our strategy.
“There are a lot of precursors, Mexico works with us and we have the technology.”
