It is currently unknown how many people are experiencing this problem, but the source indicates that there are a large number of them. The damage is different for everyone and is not very large individually, but when you consider their numbers, the totals eventually reach significant values. In one case, the user noted: 74 transactions totaling $1,500.

What is known

Interestingly, the problem arose only for users in Hungary. Local banks are aware of the issue but say it’s Apple’s fault. Raiffeisen and MBH Bank have already made statements on the matter. Both say many of their customers have witnessed unauthorized withdrawals without any authorization.

According to these people, significant amounts were withdrawn from their accounts even though they did not buy anything. One user reported this on his card Three transactions performed in just five minutes.

Raiffeisen wrote in his statement that there was a “technical issue” on Apple’s side and that both sides were working to fix it. MBH representatives similarly wrote:

Due to an external technical error that occurred in the Apple app store on the afternoon of June 26, some users’ bank cards were charged incorrectly, which also affected some MBH Bank customers. Our friends immediately reported the problem to Apple and took the necessary precautions. We will inform our customers about the refund of erroneous transactions at a later date,

Judging by the messages, most of the deletions can be related to previous transactions, as well as canceled subscriptions to re-deleted services. Users noticed that at least some of the amounts matched previous expenses.
