A few minutes after finishing presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald trumpit became clear to many that a democrat could I can not win the election on November 5th.
His failure to communicate clearly during the 90 minutes of the first debate earned him harsh criticism representatives from across the American political spectrum, especially among Democrats.
Biden took a few jabs at the tycoon, reminding him of storming the Capitol January 6, 2021 and her conviction in the porn actress case Stormy Daniels. “You have the morals of a stray cat,” he told her.
But that was not enough to convince many skeptics that he could take on Trump.
We have to be realistic: Biden is a very stubborn person. You don’t become President of the United States without having tremendous self-confidence. Biden may not be the smartest or most talented politician, but he is persistent and relentless in his ambitions.
He ran for president twice before achieving success in 2020.
He didn’t allow it brain aneurysm, accusations of plagiarismfamily dramas or personal tragedies prevented him from seeking the highest office in the United States.
The day after his debate with Trump, he shook his fist at a campaign rally in North Carolina and said, “When you get knocked down, you get back up.”
Convincing Biden to step down will require the cooperation of his wife, first lady Jill Biden, who plays an active role in managing the president’s day-to-day life and public appearances.
yes bEden withdraws his presidential candidacy Before the Democratic National Convention in mid-August, his delegates could vote to replace him at the event.
Vice President Kamala Harris would be one of the most obvious candidates to replace Biden. However, if the president were to step down, his delegates would not automatically switch to him, and he would still have to win a majority of delegates at the Democratic National Convention.
California Governor Gavin Newsom is another name being discussed who could replace Joe Biden if he withdraws from the presidential race.
Newsom has attracted more national attention, including a prime-time debate against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2023. “I will never turn my back on President Biden. I don’t know any Democrat in my party who would do that,” Gavin said at the end of Thursday’s debate.
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer not only won the election she ran in by a landslide, she also restricted guns and championed abortion and universal access to child care.
Whitmer’s leadership on progressive issues and growing recognition make her a strong candidate to replace Biden.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro came to Biden’s defense after some called for him to replace the president on the Democratic ticket following the presidential debates.
“I think Joe Biden had a bad debate, but that doesn’t change the fact that Donald Trump was a bad president,” Shapiro said on “Morning Joe.”
Things look bleak for Democrats now, but they could be in a strong position in the long run.
Trump is very unpopular among most Americans. The 2021 uprising remains a huge blemish on his legacy. His vote ceiling among likely voters in November is likely still below 50%. (According to Reuters/The Conversation)
