I’m pretty sure Google TV and Android TV are my favorite operating systems for television, and the reasons are mainly due to customization options, functionality like Chromecast, the Google ecosystem, and available apps. Certainly this last point is very important: there are a number of applications that can never be missing, whether on my Chromecast or on my TCL Smart TV, and On the throne is Kodi, a true Swiss army knife for television.
Because Kodi is generally used to play videos or as a multimedia center, as well as to bring together different streaming platforms such as Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+. as if it were a single ringtone or create a local server and have Plex installed as an add-on to Kodi. It’s worth it on its own, but you can do so much more with Kodi and for example, Three uses for this app on my TV. Once we install Kodi on our television or mobile phone, the key is in the add-ons and repositories.
noteIf you’re a beginner, it’s worth checking out this tutorial on how to install plugins.
See DTT channels
I don’t have any problems with the antenna in my house, so DTT seems to be OK. Yes, definitely, I am not afraid of power cuts and I do not miss channels that cannot be watched this way.. An example: When I lived in Madrid, I continued to improve my Basque language skills by watching ETB. Like he did? Although Basque regional television has an app to watch certain content, I preferred to watch it live using DTT. This is where Kodi comes to the rescue.
How to watch DTT with Kodi? Easy: Configure a list of IPTV channels. Following the instructions of my colleague Iván Linares, I accessed Marc Vila’s GitHub and manually copied the link to the m3u8 playlist of DTT channels. Then I had to install it from the repository. This is the list I used but of course you can also use other IPTV lists, for example the one from IPTV org or the one from TDTChannels, available on their GitHub, are other great options.
…and save them
It has already become clear that Kodi is used to play IPTV listings, but you can also record programs. I admit I don’t use it very much, but it’s never a bad thing to have it on hand when I need it. I just needed to download another plugin: ‘IPTV Recorder’. The mission of this plugin is exactly Save any content from IPTV lists to store on the device.
A mega video game console where you can play the great classics
I have an Xbox Series S connected to the TV, a Chromecast on which I load the odd game, but for nostalgic people like me the jewel in the crown is IAGL, which stands for Internet Archive Game Launcher. What exactly is this? A plugin to browse and download ROMs from the free and non-profit library Home to millions of software, books, movies, music, and yes, also video games.
To do this, the first thing to do is to download the zip file of the repository from the official IAGL source available on Zach Morris’ GitHub. Then we go to the add-ons and install from the zip file. By default, IAGL uses RetroPlayer, Kodi’s built-in game engine. The list of books is extensive and there is no shortage of classics Such as ‘Castlevania’, ‘Metal Gear’, ‘Metroid’, ‘Mario Bros’, ‘The Legend of Zelda’ and others.
Watch Samsung TV Plus channels
FAST platforms are trendy and a good tool to differentiate yourself from other brands. Therefore, some Samsung TV Plus Free channels that you have with your mobile phone or Smart TV from the Korean company… or thanks to Kodi. My TV is a TCL as I said before and not only can I watch them, but I have no geographical restriction and can see the official list for both my region and other countries.
To install Samsung TV Plus on any TV with Kodi installed, simply add ‘ as the sourcehttps://k.slyguy.xyz/‘ and in the plugins, install from a zip file by selecting the repository we introduced earlier. So later we will find this in the video add-ons and all that remains is to install them.
