Robb Report journalists recently visited the headquarters and research center of space company Sierra Space in Louisville, Colorado, and were shown new images of the space plane and the future station that Sierra Space is developing.
The Dream Chaser spacecraft is currently being tested at NASA’s test labs and test sites, with the first flight expected to take place by the end of 2024.
The space plane will launch from the Space Force station at Cape Canaveral in Florida on a new Vulcan Centaur rocket from the American company United Launch Alliance.
Additionally, Sierra Space is partnering with Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin to launch and deploy the first commercial space station, a mixed-use business park called Orbital Reef that is scheduled to be completed by 2030.
According to the plan, the Orbital Reef modules will house a hotel, a restaurant and laboratories where researchers can conduct experiments in microgravity.
