A “preview” of the Pixel 9 launch that we’ve all been waiting for in October, but which will finally see the light of day next August, It was a revolution that made us all wonder what Google was up to with the next generation of smartphones and what impact this strategic move can have in such a competitive market as the high-end market. There are many questions and even more theories, but extremely few answers.

With its August presentation, we are already waiting to see if its arrival on the market will happen more or less closely. to the Made by Google event on the 10th of that monththe theory that has gained the most weight in recent days is that Google intends to confront Apple, pitting the Pixel 9 against the iPhone 16 and more than likely new AI-based features that will debut in Android 15 with included news. in Apple Intelligence, which will debut with iOS 18 and the rest of Apple’s operating systems.

It’s a risky betsince Apple’s position in this market is one of the superior, but Google plays with the card of a great image, which is very actively shared by its users, to which it must be added that the Pixel 9 generation aims to create no less than five models, four of which , which we hope will be introduced at the event in August (Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 XL and the much-anticipated second-generation Pixel Fold), plus the Pixel 9a, which is expected to be introduced in the spring of 2025. A very, very broad range, able to satisfy the needs of many user profiles.

Recently, somewhat surprisingly, a video appeared in which we can see the Pixel 9 in a striking pink color. This video confirms renders we’ve seen before, including a camera module with much straighter angles than previous generations. But the color also confirms something we’ve already started thinking about with Google’s approaches to more casual colors, such as the light blue Pixel 8 Pro (launched in October last year) and mint, available since January of this year.

Google is getting bolder with color options and targeting younger user profiles, reinforcing actions we’ve already seen in this regard last year. the sponsorship of Operación Triunfo and the election of Aitana as a brand ambassador. So we see that, without giving up on its current users, Google has decided to bet on a user profile that until now has not had a peak in the range that directly targets the mentioned market. Whether or not this bet works remains to be seen, but as a move it’s a pretty smart one.
