Federal police said the organization laundered money earned by Brazilian traffickers who smuggled cocaine from Bolivia and Colombia to Central America by air and other routes, including Europe.

Profits in Brazil were laundered through investments in real estate companies and the purchase of 240 luxury carsA police investigator who took part in the operation told Reuters about this.

Police confiscated 35 cars and 12 aircraft, including an Embraer Phenom executive jet worth R$40 million.

The operation included search and arrest warrants in seven Brazilian states: Minas Gerais, Parana, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, Bahia and Goias.

About 280 federal police executed nine preventive detention orders and 80 search and arrest orders, and took other precautions.
