The requirements for DOOM The Dark Ages have yet to be confirmed, but we know that the game is being developed for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC, so it’s clear to us that the minimum base at the hardware level will be the Xbox Series Sa console that is the equivalent of a low-end PC and whose specifications allow us to be clear about what equipment we will need to move it to said platform.

DOOM The Dark Ages will be exclusive to the current generation of consoles and PC, making an important leap at the technical level. This was made clear in the first video of actual gameplay shown by id Software, the developer of the title. The basis of this game will be id Tech 8 graphics enginewhich is the successor to the id Tech 7 used in DOOM Eternal.

This new van will have some much more open and dynamic scenarios, it will remove the system of enemies located in arena-type areas that were blocked until we finished them all, and it will bring important changes to the gameplay that will bring it closer to the classic essence of the franchise, but introduce new things that will make it much more interesting and fresh.

DOOM The Dark Ages Estimated Requirements

Keep in mind that the requirements we will see are an estimate based on the minimum technical base that DOOM The Dark Ages will have, the Xbox Series S console. These requirements are not confirmed and therefore may not literally match the requirements of the finale. With everything, I’m sure they’ll be enough to advance the game in the respective resolutions and qualities that I mention.

Minimum level

• Windows 10 64 bit.
• Core i7 6700 or Ryzen 5 2500X processor.
• 12 GB of RAM.
• GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 5500 XT graphics card with 6 GB or more graphics memory.
• 100 GB free space. An SSD drive is required.

This configuration should be enough for gaming 1080p with low quality and medium quality textures while maintaining acceptable fluidity.

Recommended level

• Windows 11 64-bit.
• Core i7-8700 or Ryzen 5 3600 processor.
• 16 GB of RAM.
• NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER or Radeon RX 6650 XT graphics card.
• 100 GB free space. An SSD drive is required.

We should be able to play it with this team 1080p with very high or maximum quality and maintain 60 FPS or more completely stable.

Optimal level

• Windows 11 64-bit.
• Core i5-12600K or Ryzen 5 7600 processor.
• 16 GB of RAM.
• Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 4070 SUPER or Radeon RX 7900 GRE.
• 100 GB free space. An SSD drive is required.

This could be the optimal configuration to move the game 4K resolution with maximum quality and enjoy total fluidity if the optimization matches what id Software has demonstrated in previous deliveries.

DOOM The Dark Ages is coming sometime in 2025. We still don’t have a specific date, but it will most likely happen in the second half of this year.
