In response to a post by a user of the X social network about what the name of the first city of humans on Mars would be, Elon Musk, the head of technology companies SpaceX and Tesla, replied: Bar.
After reading Mask’s version, many users realized that the title was a reference to the Mars chocolate bar. After all, the phrase “Mars bar” literally translates from English to “Mars bar.”
Philology enthusiasts have noticed that the etymology of the word “bar” comes from Old English, where the word “bearu” meant a grove or fenced area. Thus, according to them, Musk implied a city surrounded by a dome where the trees of the earth would grow.
Other users suggested naming the first Martian city after the American entrepreneur: Ilongrad, Ilonville, Muskelon, Muskburg, Ilonobad, or something like that.
