SshadPS4 is a new PS4 emulator that has reached V0.1.0. It’s still in the very early stages, but thanks to the good work of the people behind this project, it already is it is able to move some complex 3D games on PC, something that was impossible for the first emulators of this console that arrived some time ago.
The games that this PS4 emulator is able to run include: The OnePiece seriesand is also able to load others such as Persona 5 and the Resident Evil: Origins collection. I don’t know if it’s possible to play Bloodborne, but I don’t think so, because if it was possible, I’m sure a video would have been released announcing it with great fanfare, because it’s one of the best anticipated achievements in emulation world of said console. At the very least, it’s an advancement that brings us closer to seeing said game emulated on PC.
This console uses x86 CPUs from AMD’s Jaguar series and has Radeon GCN 2.0 GPUs, architectures that were also available on PC. That might make us think so emulating on PC should be very easy, but the opposite ends up happeningand the results achieved by the first PS4 emulators are a clear proof of this.
I’m not saying that there won’t come a time when we can optimally emulate all or almost all games of this console on PC, remember what happened with PS3 emulation back then, but it’s clear that it is still years away from being achieved. Right now all PS4 emulators are also in very early stages and progress is very slow.
In the attached video, we can see that the emulation quality in One Piece is not bad at all. It is true that it mentions graphical errors in the scenarios, but the character modeling is shown perfectly and maintains its balance 60 frames per second. The computer used to run this emulator consisted of a processor Intel Core i9-13900K and one GeForce RTX 3090.
Rate of utilization of both components It’s pretty lowwhich is normal when emulating previous-gen console games on a high-end PC, because those games weren’t developed to take advantage of such powerful hardware, and because ultimately it’s the emulator itself that needs to be properly optimized to try to get the most out of the PC’s hardware , on which it runs.
Bloodborne PC is closer!!

Update: Well, it turns out that this emulator is able to run Bloodborne, although it has graphical and color errors and is not yet in a state that we can consider playable. All in all, this is an important first step.
