Xiaomi Testing has officially begun HyperOS 2.0. New information discovered by the XiaomiTime team reveals that HyperOS 2.0 is officially being tested. Over the past few weeks, there have been some leaks about HyperOS 2.0. But we weren’t sure if they were true or not. Now, the XiaomiTime team has found important information that confirms that HyperOS 2.0 is officially being tested. We will now reveal this important information. HyperOS 2.0 will be officially released in October.

Xiaomi officially starts working on HyperOS 2.0

Xiaomi has officially accelerated its work on HyperOS 2.0. A new extension called [OSBigversion]. This new extension identifies HyperOS versions. For example, if you are using HyperOS 1.0, this extension will be displayed as: [OSBigversion] => 1.0. Or let’s say you are using HyperOS 2.0, this extension will be displayed as: [OSBigversion] => 2.0.

Previously there was no OSBigversion extension, instead there was an extension [Bigversion] For major versions of MIUI. This Bigversion extension identifies major versions of MIUI. For example, if you are using MIUI 14, it will look like this:[bigversion] => 14″. Xiaomi has been using such extensions for years. Now we can see that HyperOS uses a special extension called “OSBigversion”.

This extension is added to the OTA server to distinguish new versions of HyperOS. With the new extension, new versions of HyperOS will reach your device smoothly and safely. This means that the development of HyperOS 2.0 has officially started.

Also, HyperOS versions have build numbers starting with V816. MIUI was first released on August 16, 2010. That is why Xiaomi set the build number as V816. There are actually different situations regarding this build number.

Before the release of HyperOS 1.0, the build number of this new version was V15. This indicates that HyperOS 1.0 is a rebranded version of MIUI 15. Some people have suggested that Xiaomi is creating a new operating system. But that is not true. At this point, you won’t even know that you are running MIUI 15.

HyperOS 2.0 is expected to be announced in October along with the Xiaomi 15 series. Xiaomi usually announces a new UI with a big launch and slowly starts rolling out a new update. Now all we have to do is wait patiently for HyperOS 2.0.
