iPad Mini is for many users the most practical and versatile version of the Apple tabletand in addition to the specific needs of the large screen, its format is particularly convenient for versatile use. In my case, I’ve been using an iPad since its first generation, and while I fully understand that each size (as well as each performance option) has its specific usage profile, experience (I repeat, personal) leads me to choose the smallest. iPads as my favorite model.

This feeling increased substantially with the launch of the sixth version of the same, in September 2021, which already made a very good impression on us on the day of its announcement, several good feelings that we could more than confirm when we tried them. The bad thing though is that it came with a price hike, followed by another one just over a year later. So the entry price of the iPad Mini has increased by almost 45% in just over thirteen months, jumping from €449 to €649, a price it remains at today.

So currently Apple offers the 2021 model with a price, in my opinion, rather inflated, which makes it a poorly recommended purchase. And to reiterate what I suggested at the beginning, Apple has done a great job of refreshing the iPad Mini and making it a sensational device. Your problem in my opinion is entirely in the price, and while I don’t know the sales figures for this generation, I’d be surprised if it didn’t have a significant effect on its sales.

Now, as we read on MacRumors, Apple has already prepared a renewal of the iPad Mini, which will be introduced this year. A generational change that, based on the rumors and leaks that have appeared so far, aims to be little more than an update, especially with regard to its SoC (which will change from A15 to A17 or more likely to A18. , to be compatible with Apple Intelligence) and solved some problems typical of previous generations.

Apple will most likely keep some surprise for its presentation, which could happen in September or October (it could also happen in November, but it seems less likely), but no one expects the jump of chips from the A series to the M series, changes in panel technology chosen for your screen or large movements for that matter. Hopefully so, just as it was with the standard iPad last May, yes that they prepared a surprise for us in the form of a drop in price. If so, and if it is substantially so (as we saw in May), I will finally restore my fourth generation iPad Mini.
