Fallout: London is already very close to seeing the light

Fallout: London has been for a long time, one of the most anticipated mods in the world of video games. And no, I’m not specifically talking about specific additions for the Fallout saga, no, I’m talking in general about the improvements that are coming to the plethora of games that currently exist. Of course, it’s most anticipated by players of Fallout 4, the game it’s aimed at, but many other people are also interested, given how promising it is.

If you don’t know, you should know that Fallout: London is an unofficial project, but its dimensions have nothing to envy the production of official studios. Its development has involved modders, screenwriters, 3D artists, voice actors and other creative professionals, and its ambitious nature means that despite being ‘advertised’ as a mod, it appears that It has dimensions that are comparable to high-end DLC.

However, its development encountered certain problems, which resulted in delaying its launch. The latter happened last April when Bethesda released an update for Fallout 4. The problem, as we told you at the time, is that this update could “break” the mod, and its developers decided to delay its release until it was able to review in depth and make any necessary changes to guarantee its optimal functioning.

Of course, this made us worry that its launch could be delayed for a long time or even that the load would be unbearable and therefore its launch would be canceled. However, less than three months later, we have some very good news, and this is it The developers of Fallout: London have confirmed that they have already uploaded several test builds to GOG, to confirm that everything is working fine. This is a step before its release, so if there are no problems, we can trust that its launch is already quite close.

More precisely, this is what we can read in the message confirming the mod’s current status:

«There has been a lot of speculation about our next release and we wanted to open it up and clear things up for our most loyal fans. The end result is that we have submitted several builds to GOG for quality testing and are awaiting the final green light. Once it has completed the process of double checking that Fallout London and its installer are working on all supported machines, we should be good to go. (Yes, we have our own installer and also a downgrade program). It is in everyone’s interest that this final QA process is done as a whole and we are very grateful that GOG is helping us.»

An important aspect to clarify is that although Fallout: London will be distributed to players through GOG, It will be compatible with all versions of Fallout 4, regardless of the format and store it was purchased in.. The reason for resorting to the CD Projeck RED platform for its distribution is the huge size of the mod, which, according to its authors, has left it out of reach of the platforms that are usually used to distribute these add-ons.
