An investment company has announced its intention to take over the German router manufacturer. A sale of AVM has been in the air for some time.
The takeover offer comes from Rucio Investment, an investment company from Luxembourg. This was confirmed by the Austrian market supervisory authority Federal Law, Advertising Authority. Parties who still wish to object to the takeover can register until August 5.
AVM is a German manufacturer of network devices and is best known for its Fritz routers. It has been known for some time that the company was looking for new investors. The four founders of the company have remained owners since 1986, but are gradually getting older. An acquisition is intended to bring a breath of fresh air into the company.
A takeover price has not yet been disclosed. AVM’s valuation could be between 750 million and 1 billion euros, based on the company’s annual turnover of around 580 million euros. The takeover has not yet been completed, but it seems only a matter of time.
AVM was recently reprimanded by the German government for price fixing with retailers. This resulted in the company being fined sixteen million euros.
