AWS is launching a generative AI tool, App Studio, that helps companies develop an application based on a written prompt.

AWS is introducing a new tool that allows companies to develop an application based on a written request. AWS App Studio is primarily aimed at IT project managers or data engineers who do not have in-depth knowledge of software development. App Studio allows them to easily and quickly develop business applications tailored to the needs of their organization. AWS App Studio is currently in preview.

Create application

AWS App Studio helps companies develop custom business tools without requiring extensive software development knowledge. The application is primarily aimed at technical professionals such as IT project managers or data engineers who have knowledge of the internal software applications needed by the company but are not professional software developers.

The tool is based on generative AI and works in the usual way: Based on a written prompt, you describe the application you need. App Studio then sets about creating the code for the application. The result is a multi-page user interface (UI), data model and business logic tailored to the needs of your company.

For example, App Studio could help companies develop an application for an inventory system, a claims approval process, or a dashboard for statistics and reports. In addition, App Studio provides detailed access control policies for your data, users, and applications, giving IT teams visibility into each application so they can monitor usage and compliance with company policies. App Studio is now available in preview.
