The mini PC market is so crowded that it’s increasingly difficult to innovate or surprise, a reality that Miniproca seems to have taken as a personal challenge to overcome with a new computer that adopts the classic NUC format and includes 7-inch display with 4K resolution.

This screen is a far cry from what we’ve seen on other similar devices since then It is fully functional and allows you to use the device as if it were a laptop without having to resort to an external screen. The screen is located in the upper part of the chassis and its inclination is adjustable thanks to two hinges that hold it on it.

We can also connect it to an external screen and use a screen that integrates this mini PC as secondary. This will allow us to display different content on both screens, which can help us improve our productivity. Considering that it is only a 7-inch screen with 4K resolution, I think this is the most interesting use that said screen has to offer, because it is not at all comfortable to work with such a small screen for long periods of time.

AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX

In terms of specifications, the MiniProca mini PC is not bad at all. It’s pretty strong and will be able to cover the needs of different user profiles without any problems. These are its key features:

  • Ryzen 9 6900HX APU with 8 cores and 16 CPU threads Zen 3+.
  • Radeon 680M graphics chip based on RDNA 2 architecture.
  • Up to 32 GB of DDR5 memory at a frequency of 4,800 MHz.
  • PCIe Gen4 x4 storage drive up to 2 TB.
  • 7-inch screen with 4K resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate.
  • Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
  • Two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, one USB Type-C connector, one 3.5 mm jack, one USB 4 connector, DisplayPort 1.4 output, HDMI 2.1 output, two USB 2.0 and two 2.5G LAN connectors.

It will be able to offer a model configured with 32 GB of memory acceptable performance even in current gamesthanks to that integrated Radeon 680M GPU if we limit ourselves to 1080p resolution and use low quality settings.

The price of the basic configuration is 699 dollars in advance, 642 euros in the course. The highest model with 2 TB of storage and 32 GB of DDR5 goes up to $1,999 if we don’t get it in pre-order1,836 euros, an absurd and totally unreasonable value that makes the equipment lose all sense, since a 2 TB SSD can be bought for just over 110 euros and 32 GB of DDR5 memory is also around 110 or 120 euros.

I think the prices were exaggerated to make the prices that they mentioned in the pre-purchase phase of this device more attractive, which are much more reasonable and interesting. For example, a model configured with 32GB of DDR5 and a 2TB SSD costs $919 upfront, €844 trade-in, less than half of that inflated “recommended” price of $1,999.
