We are separated by a month and a day the highly anticipated launch of the Google Pixel 9 family, next August 13. The new generation, which, as all the numerous leaks tell us, aims to be by far the biggest in terms of the number of models that will feature it. And we expect no less than five models, each with its own version of storage capacity and color, compared to the three models of the current generation, as well as the previous ones.

Let’s recall all the models that we hope will make up this new generation:

• Pixel 9: codename “Tokay”. Replaces Pixel 8.Notification/trigger? in August 2024.
• Pixel 9 Pro: code name “Caiman”. A new proposal, with 9 Pro specs but Pixel 9 size. Announcement/Launch? in August from 2024.
• Pixel 9 Pro XL: codename “Komodo”. Replaces Pixel 8 Pro. Announcement/Launch? in August from 2024.
• Pixel 9 Pro Fold: codenamed “Comet”. Replaces Pixel Fold. Announcement/Launch? in August from 2024.
• Pixel 9a: no known code name. Replaces Pixel 8a. Run in spring 2025?

The first question is of course if the launch occurs at the same time (or at least very close to) the August 13 announcement. And although it may seem obvious, we must remember that Google presented the Pixel 7 on May 22, but did not launch them until October of the same year (after the second presentation). That’s why we can’t take anything for granted, although it makes sense that they plan to debut in early September, which for many coincides with the end of summer and “back to school”.

We can’t be clear either When will the presentation of the most economical family model take place?, 9a, and if the 7a was introduced at Google I/O 2023, this year’s model was a few weeks before the developer event. I’m not going to say that Google is playing tricks, because I’m sure they aren’t, but it’s also clear to me that they’ve totally confused us.

So, while waiting for their official introduction and knowing the date when they will start to hit the market (and in which markets each model actually), it seems that there are other important information that we will not have to wait for. we read in Dealabs (in French), Prices for all Pixel 9 models have already leaked… and they’re coming with a price hike. The information leaked in this way is limited to the French market, but we can expect similar ones in Spain as well. Here are the prices for each model, as well as the colors they will be available in:

Google Pixel 9: Available in 4 colors for all configurations, Obsidian, Porcelain, Cosmo and Mojito .

• 128GB: 899 euros
• 256GB: 999 euros

So if it is confirmed that these are the prices for our country, we see a generalized increase in prices. In the case of the “base” model, we see that it starts at 899 euros, while the starting price of the Pixel 8 was 799 euros, so we would be talking about an increase of 100 euros.

Google Pixel 9 Pro:

• 128GB: Obsidian , Porcelain , Fox and Pink. Price: 1,099 euros
• 256GB: Obsidian , Porcelain , Fox and Pink . Price: 1,199 euros
• 512GB: Obsidian and Fox . Price: 1,329 euros

Here it may seem that there is no increase in price, but this is not quite the case, since this 9 Pro is, as we recalled at the beginning, a new proposal that combines the size of the standard model with the specifications of the Pro. , which switches to Pro XL in this generation.

Google Pixel 9 Pro XL:

• 128GB: Obsidian , Porcelain and Fox . Price: 1,199 euros
• 256GB: Obsidian , Porcelain , Fox and Pink . Price: 1,299 euros
• 512GB: Obsidian , Porcelain and Fox . Price: 1,429 euros
• 1 TB: Obsidian . Price: 1689 euros

As mentioned in the previous section, the real equivalence between the current generation and the one that will be presented in August is that of the Pixel 8 Pro with this 9 Pro XL, and therefore we will again find an increase of 100 euros in the item. model, the one with a capacity of 128 gigabytes.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Available in 2 colors for all configurations, Obsidian and Porcelain.

• 256GB: 1,899 euros
• 512GB: 2,029 euros

This is the only case if we compare these prices with Pixel Fold prices in Germany (the only country in the European Union and with the Euro as currency) where there is no price increase compared to the previous generation.
