Trump will no longer have additional followers on Facebook and Instagram

Trump, who is running against US President Joe Biden to return to the White House, will no longer be subject to additional monitoring, Meta said.

“As we evaluate our responsibility to allow political expression, we believe the American people should be able to hear presidential candidates on the same basis,” Meta said in an updated blog post.

Some social media experts have long criticized Meta and other platforms for failing to moderate political content, even that of candidates.

Trump also banned from Twitter

Trump was also banned from Twitter, now called X, in 2021.

Billionaire Elon Musk reinstated his account shortly after acquiring the company in 2022, though Trump has only posted once since then.
