Just a few days ago, we saw that Shadps4 v0.1.0, a PS4 emulator, was able to emulate Bloodborne on PC, but it only reached the brightness configuration screen and also showed serious errors in color representation, because everything appeared with such an intense red tone that other colors could not be distinguished.
It only took a week for this emulator to start showing significant improvements. Shadps4 v0.1.1 version can emulate Bloodborne on PC without this color rendering error. It remains in the same place as the previous version, so it doesn’t make it to the first playable scene, which is a real shame, but it’s an improvement that’s certainly worth noting.
But be clear a real turning point, the great success in this case comes when exactly that is achieved, when this emulator is able to work with real game scenes. Until then, we’ll just have a home screen that will make our teeth grow longer and longer.
In my case, I’ve had the PS4 version for several years, specifically the one that comes with the “Ancient Hunters” DLC. I finished the whole game including the DLC, twiceall without resorting to any online help and without leaving me any secrets, and in general I have a fantastic memory of my experience.
But that doesn’t mean Bloodborne on PS4 is perfect. The resolution is limited to 1080p and the sawtooth and pixel effect is very noticeable and not just the frame rate often drops below 30, but also suffers from a very pronounced stuttering it affects the gameplay and it always gave me a headache so when i stopped playing it to rest it wasn’t because i wanted to it was because the problems were killing my eyes and head.
Emulated Bloodborne on PC could solve all these problems. Imagine what it would be like to play in 4K with good anti-aliasing and a stable 60 FPS, a real spectacle that would undoubtedly give a second life and allow us to enjoy that long-awaited “PC version” that Sony never dared to launch from for one reason or another. Let’s keep dreaming, it looks like that dream might come true after all.
