Having an old tablet in a drawer is a waste of it, because even if it is a few years old and not the most powerful tablet in the world, you can still benefit from it by recycling it. That’s what we did with the Huawei MediaPad T5 that my mother-in-law currently has. It has become a portable smart TV that you can take anywhere.
How to turn an old Android tablet into a portable smart TV?
Old tabletThe Huawei tablet we have at home, besides being experienced, is entry-level, with rather modest specifications but sufficient for this use case: only 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, Android 8.0 operating system with the Chinese firm’s EMUI 8.0 customization layer.
However The screen is not bad at all and that’s the most interesting thing: It is a Full HD resolution and 10.1 “diagonal IPS type. Its body is metal and its internal 5,100 mAh battery allows you to watch movies and some episodes without any problems without being plugged in.
