The Intel 310 is a new CPU that has appeared in the database of the benchmarking website Geekbench. It will be part of the series “Intel processor” and with its low price and consumption characteristics, it will follow in the footsteps of last year’s 300 model.

You already know that Intel discontinued the Pentium and Celeron series at that time, but continued to serve the entry range with Intel N. And not all users or the computing tasks they perform need processors with “zero hundred” cores, which are more energy intensive and much more expensive.

The one in question, the Intel 310, It will only have two cores of physical processing (both high-performance with Raptor Cove architecture) and four threads. Its basic operating frequency will reach 4.09 GHz, it will have 6 Mbyte L3 cache and 2.5 Mbyte L2 cache. The chip is designed for the LGA 1700 socket, just like the rest of the Raptor Lake line, where it fits.

The processor appeared on Geekbench, one of the usual testing sites for hardware tests. It uses a GIGABYTE H610M motherboard with 8GB of DDR4-3200 single-channel memory and runs Windows 10 Pro. The listing doesn’t reveal the TDP of the new chip, but it could be rated at 46 watts just like the 300 models.

The CPU scored 2152 points in the single-core test and 4254 points in the multi-core test. No, it won’t be breaking records in 2024 and compared to mid and higher. However, these scores still stand significantly better than N series processors from Intel, including the quad-core Core i3-10100.

Obviously, these types of processors are not intended for gaming machines or heavy-duty professional workstations, but for other types of use, basic computer technology, multimedia, internet, etc. If it sells at a reasonable price, as it often does in this product line, this CPU will be really attractive and ideal for machines like Mini-PCs or embedded systems.
