Xiaomi representative denies rumors about Xiaomi SU8

Xiaomi’s public relations department general manager Wang Hua officially denied the rumors about Xiaomi SU8. Xiaomi confirmed that SU8 is not currently available.

We have already encountered many rumors about the existence of the Xiaomi SU8. On July 15, the automotive media drew two posters of the Xiaomi SU8. One of the posters states that the Xiaomi SU8 will be introduced on July 16. The poster also includes realistic visuals of the car, which is said to be the successor to the Xiaomi SU7.

When an official confirmed that the posters were fake and that there was no successor to the SU7, many speculated that it could be the Xiaomi SU9. Recently, spy photos surfaced online claiming that this is Xiaomi’s first SUV. According to a previous report, the car’s internal codename was MX11 and it is expected to be launched in 2025. The fan-made renders of the SUV retain many of the Xiaomi SU7’s design elements. They include the headlights, door handles, pebble-style laser radar, Saturn taillights, and petal-shaped alloy wheels.

According to CNMO, the SUV will likely be the company’s second electric vehicle, with launch still at least a year away.

However, the company sold more than 10,000 SU7 units in June and is expected to sell another 10,000 units this month. Xiaomi Auto is reported to be planning to launch a total of 100,000 electric cars this year. To meet the demand, the company has increased the production of its electric vehicles. In June, they started two shifts of production to provide a monthly supply of 10,000 units.
