Google is said to have offered CISPE members around 470 million euros to reopen the antitrust case against Microsoft, writes Bloomberg. This complaint relates to the way Microsoft markets its cloud products. Customers would find it difficult to switch providers, which would lead to unfair competition. CISPE filed a complaint against Microsoft for this.
Earlier this month, Microsoft and CISPE agreed to drop the antitrust lawsuit. In addition to concessions regarding its licenses, Microsoft came with a check for $20 million to CISPE. Not everyone is happy with this agreement.

The antitrust case against Microsoft took a very different turn last week. Microsoft suddenly seemed accommodating and was given the benefit of the doubt by CISPE. The tech giant seemed to respond to all complaints, which led to CISPE dropping the antitrust case.
470 million euros, that’s how much Google is willing to pay to continue the antitrust case against Microsoft. The technology giant is not happy with this agreement because the new agreements do not apply to Google. CISPE decided to accept Microsoft’s offer.
