ChatGPT has quite a few competitors, but Claude is one of the few that has managed to dethrone it. Or at least that’s what some of the rankings responsible for measuring the potential of these chatbots say. Claude 3.5 Sonnet was released in June as a competitor to GPT-4o, and the app is now available for Android.

We can download it completely free on Android, and we can access the model without paying a penny. Of course, the limitations are important and we will have to check it to reveal the true potential of this artificial intelligence.

Sonnet 3.5 outperforms GPT-4o in many ways. According to its creators, it has significantly improved its code writing and translation capabilities and can also interpret documents fairly accurately.

Not everything that glitters is gold: Sonnet, in its free version, doesn’t have the ability to create files or read URLs like the free version of GPT-40. We should also note that Claude asks for our phone number to verify our identity, which is an unnecessary step when using OpenAI’s AI.

This free version for Android is limited, and after a few messages with Claude, we will have to wait around five hours before we can write to him again, something very similar to the limitation that OpenAI imposed on us when using GPT-40 in its free version.

If we want to get more from this AI, we can pay 22 euros per month to access the Pro plan. This gives us access to the Claude 3 Opus and Haiku, the Sonnet sister models that unlock more functions. Paying also Early access new features as well as priority access during peak traffic periods.
