Company OpenAI announced the launch of a new artificial intelligence model GPT-4o mini. It will replace GPT-3.5. The company described the new model as “the most functional and affordable small model available today.” In the near future OpenAI plans to integrate image, video and audio processing functions into the new model.
As you can easily guess, the new model is one of the versions. GPT-4owas released in May. GPT-4o mini will be available to free ChatGPT users today, as well as ChatGPT Plus and Team subscribers, and to ChatGPT Enterprise users next week. The model has a context window of 128,000 tokens and information until October 2023.
A new model is needed to lower the price OpenAI. Despite outperforming GPT-4 in the chat options on the LMSYS leaderboard, it is priced at 15 cents per million tokens in and 60 cents per million tokens out, making it much more affordable than previous Frontier models and over 60% cheaper. GPT – 3.5 Turbo.
GPT-4o mini academically outperforms GPT-3.5 Turbo in both textual intelligence and multimodal reasoning, and supports the same range of languages as GPT-4o.
