A few days after the Nürburgring record was broken, the most powerful Porsche Panamera was officially introduced. The Porsche Turbo S E-Hybrid features an electric V-8 engine and an upgraded battery.
The heart of the top model is a 4.0-liter engine with two turbines with a capacity of 591 hp. The electric motor, integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, produces an additional 187 hp. Together they produce 771 hp, which is 81 hp more than before. Torque has jumped to 1000 Nm.
Thanks to the additional electric power, the flagship Panamera now accelerates two-tenths of a second faster to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.8 seconds. The top speed is 200 mph (325 km/h). Porsche has increased the total battery capacity by 45 percent to 25.9 kWh.
The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid features ceramic brakes, 21-inch mid-mount wheels, a carbon fiber aerodynamic kit, and special Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The former adds 132 pounds of downforce at 124 mph, and the latter is a special Pilot Sport Cup 2 tire. Porsche is currently accepting orders for $228,495 without options.
