Tens of thousands of computers running Microsoft’s Windows operating system are currently experiencing the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) problem.
The global outage affected hundreds of banks worldwide, major airlines from Europe to Australia, telecommunications companies, mobile phone operators and many other institutions, including governments.
The Windows crash was probably caused by an update to the Falcon Platform software product of the American company CloudStrike. It works on cloud technologies and is used to prevent cyberattacks. The update may have caused a conflict with Microsoft’s operating system.
American entrepreneur and owner of social network X, Elon Musk, reacted to Windows’ failure by reposting one of many posts stating that his program, unlike its competitors, works.
