The long-awaited version of smartphones Huawei Nova 13 series According to reliable industry source Digital Chat Station, it has been postponed. The series, which was originally scheduled to air in August, will no longer be appearing.

The Chinese tech giant is instead set to unveil a Nova-branded flip phone. While details about this new device are scarce, the Nova series’ reputation for offering high-quality features at competitive prices points to a similar approach to the future of the flip device.

As for the delayed Nova 13 series, rumors point to a few interesting features. The Pro and Ultra models are said to feature satellite connectivity, which has been gaining popularity lately. Powering these devices could be the same flagship Kirin 9010 SoC that powers the recently launched Huawei Pura 70 series.

The Nova 13 series could also inherit the XMAGE camera branding currently found on the Huawei Pura and Mate flagships. The series is also expected to offer improved selfie photography with a dual front camera.

As for the display, sources suggest a flat display for the standard Nova 13, while other models could feature a slightly curved design. All devices are said to feature a 1.5K resolution display, which is a comfortable middle ground between Full HD and Quad HD.

The Nova 13 series is also expected to come with HarmonyOS Next pre-installed. The rear camera system is said to include variable aperture technology for the main camera, with the periscope telephoto lens likely reserved for the higher-end models. While these details are yet to be confirmed, they do suggest a potentially versatile mid-range offering.
