After BMW decided to withdraw from the price war in China, there were reports that dealers were refusing to deliver cars that were previously ordered by customers at deep discounts.
Users confirm that this mainly concerns the BMW i3, ix3 and BMW 3 Series models, which are set at attractive prices. Most consumers ordered the cars in late May or June, but after BMW announced that the company was withdrawing from the price war, local dealers refused to deliver. Now they offer customers to first pay more than $4,000 and only then get the cars.
BMW China said: “We are actively communicating with relevant dealers and urge authorized BMW dealers to comply with relevant laws, regulations and contractual agreements, protect the rights and interests of consumers, and ensure that consumers receive a better service experience.”
It was previously reported that dealers suffered serious losses due to the price war. BMW China said that in the second half of the year, the company will focus on business quality in the Chinese market and support dealers in stable operation.
Last week it was learned that BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi withdrew from the price war. Sales are not increasing and losses are huge.
