Research by Capgemini shows that the vast majority of organizations surveyed have increased their annual investments in generative AI.
A Capgemini study shows that 80 percent of organizations worldwide have increased their investments in generative AI in the past year. These larger investments are accompanied by a wider adoption of generative AI. Almost all organizations that participated in the survey (97%) allow their employees to use generative AI in some way. Trust in AI agents is increasing and driving revenue and innovation.
The survey was conducted among 1,100 executives of companies with annual revenues of more than $1 billion in fourteen countries, including France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.
Larger investments
Of the 1,100 executives surveyed worldwide, 80 percent said they had increased their investment budget for generative AI since last year. The remaining 20 percent remained at the same investment level. No company cut its investment budget.
“Generative AI is beginning to transform business. Organizations are already seeing concrete revenue gains and the use of generative AI is also accelerating innovation. As a result, companies are no longer just focusing on cost optimization but are actively exploring new ways to leverage the potential of this technology and create value,” notes Pascal Brier, Chief Innovation Officer at Capgemini and member of the Group Executive Committee.
Trust AI agents
The research shows that more and more organizations are recognizing the added value of generative AI. Almost all organizations (97%) allow their employees to use generative AI in some way. In addition, almost three-quarters (74%) of companies agree that the use of generative AI contributes to revenue and innovation.
Capgemini Research: AI Introduction
As AI technology advances, it will move from the role of a supporting tool to that of an independent agent with increased execution capacity. The report highlights the high level of trust in AI agents for certain tasks such as creating professional emails, coding and data analysis.
“As investments increase, the emergence of more complex, autonomous AI systems heralds a new era of generative AI that could impact the way businesses operate. To advance their AI journey, companies must build strong data foundations with clear processes to manage data across silos and enable cross-functional data integration,” Brier concludes. Trust, transparency and accountability will continue to play a central role in this evolution.
