The SAIC Volkswagen joint venture has launched the all-new Volkswagen Passat PRO: live photos of the cars coming off the assembly line were published by the Chinese resource Autohome. The car is already in series production, but will not be available on the market until September. Prices will probably be announced then.
The Chinese Passat PRO will differ significantly from the European one – not so much in design, but primarily in body: in China, the Passat is a sedan, in Europe it is only a station wagon.
Like the new Volkswagen Tiguan L PRO, the Passat PRO will have three screens on the dashboard. There will be two options for the design of the front end: a large air intake with a mesh structure and a slightly more compact air intake with horizontal bars.
The dimensions of the machine are 5006x1850x1489 mm, and the wheelbase is 2871 mm. That is, the new Passat PRO will be about 5 cm longer than the current Passat, but the wheelbase will not change by a millimeter. Under the hood will be installed standard Volkswagen engines with a volume of 1.5 and 2.0 liters, with a capacity of 160 and 220 hp.
