Cadillac presented the Sollei concept convertible, which stands out for its extravagant appearance, dimensions and unusual materials.
As this is a concept, there’s very little technical data available, but the convertible is built on the same Ultium electric platform as the equally extravagant Celestiq model, so if the Sollei does make it to market, the car’s specs will likely be similar.
According to what is known, there are huge 68-inch doors, large screens, interior lighting with 126 different colors and multiple zones, bird images in the interior and many different trim materials. There is leather, wood and metal, but the most interesting seems to be the material called Thin Mycelium.
It is derived from mushrooms. More specifically, Thin Mycelium is MycoWorks’ proprietary technology that designs mycelium cells to form interconnected cellular structures as they grow. This type of material is also called mushroom leather.
