His long-awaited visit comes at a time of great upheaval in American politics following the assassination attempt on former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump (2017-2021), and after President Biden decided, following questions about his advanced age (81), to drop the race and pass the baton to Vice President Kamala Harris.

This Wednesday, the Israeli prime minister will deliver his fourth speech to Congress, which will not be attended by Harris, who will hold a separate bilateral meeting with the Israeli prime minister at the White House this week. The Prime Minister’s agenda for today is unclear.
