O Google announced a new hiatus world record for calculating the digits of pi, the most famous mathematical constant of the school and perhaps the world. Now the irrational number has in the sum 100 trillion digits calculated. With this new record Google reached its own mark of “only” 34 trillion pi.

Pi at 3.14 is still enough for mere mortals

It was reported that the company Mountain View used a single machine with 128 vCPUs and 864GB RAM (insert Google Chrome joke here) running Debian Linux to do the calculations.
