Although it’s not usually one of the first tech companies named when talking about artificial intelligence, Adobe has been a pioneer in its application in creative processes for many years.and performing artificial intelligence on the PC thanks to the computing power of the platform NVIDIA RTX means a qualitative leap of the first levelbecause it gives creators and publishers all the benefits of cloud independence for many of their workflows.
This week, NVIDIA is dedicating the entry of its AI Decoded series to precisely this point, the huge contribution that the advanced AI computing capabilities of its GPUs, both discrete and integrated, offer to any creative process, in which the generative capabilities of the newer models can make a big difference. And speaking of Adobe, No doubt it will take us to Fireflya set of tools and features that Adobe introduced in March of last year, and which has continued to grow in both features and scope in the time since.
NVIDIA’s RTX acceleration delivers significant speed and performance improvements for AI features in Adobe applications. For example, Adobe Premiere Pro’s Enhance Speech tool, which uses AI to remove unwanted noise and improve dialog quality, is up to 4.5 times faster on RTX PC. Meanwhile, RTX-accelerated mask selection tools like Select Subject and Select Sky in Adobe Lightroom allow users to create complex masks with the click of a button. RTX acceleration also benefits other AI features such as shape generation and color changing in Adobe Illustrator and texturing from text in Adobe Substance 3D Sampler, not to mention what is probably one of the most and highly rated AI features in Photoshop, the generative filler.
Adobe puts a lot of work and analysis into identifying the workflows of its users, which translates into the information it uses to improve the features and tools of its apps, something that has also been done in the implementation of AI-based features from the very beginning, but also It is not only limited to speed in getting resultsit also has a vital component in another crucial aspect for the creative community.
i mean of course privacy in relation to processed contentand the security of knowing that non-reproducible proprietary content is not used without permission when training models. Regarding this second point, Adobe has said from day one that it has the necessary permissions to use said materials, and that therefore creators using Firefly can trust that they will not encounter problems in this regard later.
The possibility of using generative AI functions directly on the device thanks to the computing capacity of the NVIDIA RTX platform, in turn, guarantees that the creations never leave the computer on which they are processed, and in addition, they are not used for model training, i.e. the creator will always have absolute control over his work. And that’s a huge difference at a time when disputes over the misuse of copyrighted content are the order of the day.
