Chery is preparing to launch a new electric SUV developed in collaboration with Zhimi Technology, a subsidiary of Chinese Xiaomi. The iCar V23 may appear outside of China under the Jaecoo or Lucano brand. As is known, the car will be sold for $ 16,500.

For this money, buyers will get the front-wheel drive version of the car, which has a range of up to 250 miles. The car is available for blind order for $275, with a final payment of $16,235. The car is expected to be released this year.

In this project, the Zhimi team is responsible for the design of the car. Chery is involved in production, supply chains, sales, transportation and after-sales service. The companies plan to launch six to eight car models in the next three years.

The iCar V23 follows the boxy styling of the iCar 03. Its distinguishing features include round headlights, wide fenders, flat hidden door handles and raised bumpers. According to Carnewschina, the car looks like a mix of the BAW 212, Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Jeep Wrangler.

The iCar V23 is a small car with dimensions of 4220x1915x1845 mm. It also has a long wheelbase of 2730 mm. Thanks to the short overhangs, the approach and departure angles of the V23 are 43 and 41 degrees, respectively. Chery positions this car as an SUV with all-wheel drive (prices to be announced later) and 212 mm ground clearance. The front-wheel drive version received 206 mm ground clearance.

The iCar V23’s interior is equipped with a large screen, a three-spoke steering wheel, and physical controls. The gear lever is located behind the steering wheel. It is also equipped with millimeter-range radars and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155 chip.
