There have been plenty of leaks about the Pixel 9 series so far, but today’s leak is the biggest yet, as reliable tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka Onleaks) has shared an official teaser that reveals everything from the design to the specs and AI features. The lineup includes standard, pro, and foldable devices that have already been confirmed by the search giant. Google is planning to unveil its next-generation Pixel devices on August 13th.

Google Pixel 9 series turns into a major leak

The next-gen Pixel 9 series will include the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The report adds that the Pro variant will be available in two variants with different display sizes. This suggests that the larger display could be called the Pixel 9 Pro XL. The entire series is expected to be available in dark grey, light grey, off-white (procelan), and pink color options. However, these are not accurate marketing names.

Marketing materials say that, starting with tablet phones, polished edges mean a glossy flat frame and a soft matte back. Google has cut the horizontal camera bar on the back of the Pixel 9 series. The bump is visible, but it doesn’t extend from one side to the other. The camera sensors are housed in a pill-shaped cutout. The Pro models also have a visible temperature sensor.

As for optics, the leak suggests that the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro will feature a 50MP primary lens and a 48MP ultrawide lens. The latter has been upgraded from the 12MP on the standard version. As previously reported, the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL will also feature a 48MP periscopic telephoto lens. The standard model will retain its 10.5MP selfie camera, while the pro variants will feature a 42MP sensor.

The Pixel 9 will feature a 6.3-inch Actua display, while the Pixel 9 Pro will also feature the same screen size, with an optional 6.9-inch display option.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold features a rectangular camera module with rounded corners. It is said to feature the same 6.3-inch Actua display as the non-folding Pixel 9 on the front. The internal display will reportedly be 8-inch with a Super Actua Flex panel. The triple primary camera setup is expected to include a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 10.5-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto sensor. There will be a 10-megapixel selfie shooter.

In terms of hardware, the entire Pixel 9 series will be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset. The standard version will feature 12GB of RAM, while the Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold will feature 16GB of RAM.

Pixel 9 AI features

Like last year, Google will be rolling out seven years of updates for the entire Pixel 9 series of phones. These updates will come with an emergency call that will notify you of any crises and is also said to protect against malware and phishing. The search giant says the devices are designed and built for AI. Future offerings will of course come with Gemini AI and Circle to Search. The Pixel 9 series will also come with Pixel screenshots that will save information for later recall.
