Six killed in Jose Cuervo blast
On the afternoon of July 24, firefighters from the state and municipality of Tequila, Jalisco, discovered sixth fatality after the explosion at the La Rojenja factory, also known as House of the RavenOn Tuesday afternoon.
Local authorities said it was discovered during “cooling and debris removal manoeuvres (…) lifeless human body inside the settling pit, on the territory of the container.”
The discovery brings “a total of six people killed in the incident at the tequila company,” they said.
Victor Hugo Roldan Guerrero, director general of civil protection and firefighters in Jalisco, told Aristegui live that some of the dead were workers for Jose Cuervo and others were contractors.
They also reported that on Wednesday morning, “a new fire broke out in a warehouse of cardboard and other materials. The fire reached 200 liter barrel which contained waste raw materials.”
However, the fire was brought under control without posing any greater risk in the area.
