Samsung mocked for using iPhone to promote app

We all make mistakes at work, but not everyone gets a chance to fix them before they hit the news. Illustrative example: Samsung using images of Apple’s rival iPhone for its Samsung Members’ advertising campaign. Recently popular phones from Samsung and Apple are different from the others: the former screen has selfie camera openings, the second has a slot for the front camera and other sensors, while the dock screen is said to disappear in the fall.

That’s why Samsung community members pointed out that a recent banner image advertising the new themes shows an iPhone, not a Samsung phone. Community members said, “Yes? Galaxy had a seizure? The person in charge uses an iPhone, so only iPhone appears”, “Android software on an Apple phone, haha” and “Apparently some Samsung Electronics employees don’t use Samsung phones”.

As soon as Samsung realized what had happened, the moderator posted a message stating that the person responsible for the image made a mistake and the image would be edited, that’s what happened.

Hello, this is Galaxy Store. The responsible person made a mistake in the process of changing the original design file. Banner image will be changed and replaced today. Thank you for your interest in the Galaxy service. We will try to provide the best service. Thank you

The image was later updated with a Galaxy phone with a haircut.

This isn’t the first time Samsung has used the iPhone to promote the product. In 2018, for example, Nigerian and Saudi Samsung accounts on Twitter used the iPhone to enter advertising tweets for the Galaxy Note 9. In 2021, the company was caught using the iPhone again to tease the yet-to-be-released Galaxy S21.

After the company decided to do the same, it also had to remove messages that mocked Apple for removing the chargers from the iPhone box. Recently, Samsung described Oppo’s fancy Find N as “pretty stunning” on Twitter, but since the comment hasn’t been removed, the company appears to be heartily praising its rival. Source
