We have prepared this unofficial list after analyzing the software update policy for each Realme smartphone.

Realme offers proper software updates for its devices. While the high-end GT series usually gets up to three Android updates, the GT Neo models only get two. The numbered series phones also get two OS updates, while the budget C series only gets one.

The budget Narzo series also received a maximum of one OS update, but the latest models come with the promise of two Android updates.

Realme offers a maximum of three Android updates, but that’s limited to its top-tier GT models. However, sibling brands Oppo and OnePlus offer an extra year of Android updates for their top-tier models. Samsung and Google have taken this game to the next level by promising seven years of Android updates.

When will Realme start rolling out Android 15?

Android 15 has already entered the “platform stable” phase with the release of beta version 3, and another beta version, beta 4, was recently released. This means we are close to the stable release.

Google hasn’t released a release date for Android 15, but so far it’s sticking to last year’s rollout schedule, so if things continue like this, stable Android 15 should arrive in early October.

Thanks to the beta testing program, Realme users can get an early taste of the new operating system before the stable release. It is currently available for the Realme 12 Pro+ but will be rolled out to other devices in the coming weeks and months.

As for the stable version, it is expected to launch by the end of November. The threat will first affect high-end phones and then spread to other devices.

Android 15: What to expect?

Here are some of the most important and valuable additions to Android 15:

1. Satellite connection

Android 15 “expands platform support for satellite connectivity.” It adds support for SMS, MMS, and native RCS apps to use satellite connectivity to send and receive messages. The operating system also adds some UI elements to provide a consistent user experience.

Not all Android 15 phones will support satellite connectivity, as they will likely require a dedicated chip and carrier support.

2. Anti-theft lock

Google recently introduced its Find My Device network, which allows users to find their lost Android devices using a crowdsourced network of over a billion Android devices. This feature is available on older Android devices as well, but Android 15 makes it more useful with the integration of an anti-theft feature.

Anti-Theft Detection Lock automatically locks your device when someone snatches your phone and runs away. It automatically detects unusual movements and locks the device when it detects suspicious movements or actions.

What’s even more interesting is that after a factory reset, another person needs the same Google account to set up the device, otherwise it won’t work just like an Apple iPhone.

3. Private area

Android 15 adds Private Space to store top-secret apps or files under an extra layer of security. It uses a different Google account for better protection.

Other users can’t see the apps you use or download in Private Space. They don’t even see the app in recent apps.

4. Program archiving

Similar to offloading apps on iPhone, Android 15 will allow users to remove unwanted apps while preserving user data. There will be no data loss and you can continue where you left off after reinstalling/unzipping the app.

Android already has app archiving via the Google Play Store. This allows you to archive and restore those apps via the Google Play Store. However, Android 15 integrates this feature at the OS level, allowing users to archive/restore apps, even those installed outside the Google Play Store.

5. Separate program pairs

If you use your device in split-screen mode most of the time, Android 15 will save you a lot of time. This will allow you to save your favorite app pairs for use in split-screen mode. For example, you can create a shortcut for YouTube and Notes.
