The Windows troubleshooter is one of the tools that has been improved the most over the years. I remember perfectly that in its first version Its practical utility was thus limited that never solved any problem for me and I had several at the time.

That bad experience it made me lose my faith completely in the Windows troubleshooter to the point where I stopped using it altogether for a while. How to use the Windows 11 Troubleshooter

It’s very easy, just follow these steps:

1. We press the Windows key and enter “Troubleshooting settings”. We enter the first result.
2. Now we will click on “Additional troubleshooting tools”.
3. This will take us to a section where we can click directly on the various troubleshooting options related to sound, printers, networks and internet, and more, as you can see in the attached image.
4. We run whatever troubleshooter we need, let it complete the self-directed process, and that’s it.
5. If a problem was found, it will be identified at the end of the process, where we will also see if it has been solved or not.

We can also use the troubleshooter check previous cases using their history, where automatically resolved cases appear. In my case, I’ve never had to use it since installing Windows 11, which is why I don’t see any results when I check the history.

When and why is it good to use this tool

Because it works and because it’s a very easy-to-use tool that works automatically and very quickly, which makes it possible a great choice when:

• We are facing a problem whose origin we cannot identify.
• This is a malfunction that mainly affects the network, printer, sound or Windows updates.
• We tried restarting the computer to fix the problem but it didn’t work.
• We are not clear on what we should do to solve the problem.
• The errors started after making configuration changes or installing new software or new drivers.

I can tell you from my personal experience that I got the best results with network and internet connection issues in Windows 11and also with sound.

We can also configure the troubleshooter run automatically if necessary or set a preference that Windows will ask us before starting. That’s exactly the option I chose, and it’s the one I recommend more than anything else to avoid any surprises or interruptions that might occur with autorun.
