Sharp launches first office monitors under its own name

For the first time in Europe, Sharp is introducing two desktop monitors under its own brand name. Both 27-inch monitors are aimed at professional users.

Sharp is launching the Sharp Multisync EA272Q and the Sharp Multisync EA272U. These are two 27-inch screens designed for use in the office or at the home desk. The displays are the first that Sharp is launching under its own name in Europe. They look the same, but the EA272Q has 1,550 x 1,440 pixels, while the EA272U has a 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160) pixels.

The Sharp Multisync EA272U not only has the highest resolution, but also the best panel. According to Sharp, it covers 110 percent of the sRGB spectrum, 81.6 percent AdobeRGB and 78 percent NTSC. The EA272Q keeps it at 100 percent sRGB and 77 percent NTSC, with no information for AdobeRGB.

Well-equipped dock

Otherwise, the screens are similar. They are USB-C compatible and support the 90-watt Power Delivery standard. Sharp also offers a DisplayPort output so you can daisy-chain multiple screens without having to connect multiple cables to your computer.

The Multisync displays have space for HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-A and an RJ45 LAN port for a wired internet connection. Equipped with these ports, they function as a well-equipped laptop docking station. In addition, the screens are ergonomically quite well equipped. You can adjust them in height by 15 cm and rotate them in portrait format, which is practical for developers or lawyers, for example.

Sharp, which is already present in our business market with its printers, is betting on a very attractive price when launching its screens. The Sharp MultiSync EA272Q with WQHD resolution is now available for a recommended retail price of 399 euros. The Sharp MultiSync EA272U with 4K panel will be launched in October and costs 440 euros.
