Artificial intelligence has been part of our lives for some time now. an integral part became. With technologies like ChatGPT we can do any work we want. The government, aware of this, said a while ago that “National Action Plan for Artificial Intelligence StrategyHe announced. Here is the project that will be set up in METU. Center for Artificial Intelligence will be implemented exactly within the scope of this action plan.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Verşan Kök’s statement is as follows:
We have started to create a hub at METU on artificial intelligence. We have done our preparatory work. Our joint work with international organizations in this area continues. In about a year, we will share our work in this area with the press.
As you know, the Action Plan sets out various tasks for ministries, YÖK, TÜBİTAK and universities. METU aims to enhance the country’s scientific and technological capacity in artificial intelligence with its contributions to the Turkish National Action Plan for Artificial Intelligence Strategy. We will support artificial intelligence projects by establishing advanced research centers in this field and strengthening existing ones, and provide students and researchers with the necessary knowledge and skills by offering artificial intelligence courses and graduate programs in various disciplines.
I would like to share that we will continue to contribute and participate in this process at the national and international level through the hub that we will create. We will continue to contribute as much as possible to local and national technologies within this hub process, which is still in the process of establishment and which includes other disciplines besides the engineering faculty, consisting of our researchers and faculty members. Therefore, we will play a leading role in this process. This comprehensive approach will enable METU to play a leading role in the field of artificial intelligence and increase Turkey’s competitiveness in this field.
