Samsung has expanded its USB flash drive lineup with a new Type-C model with a large capacity of 512GB. The drive is designed for users who need enough space for large files, such as 4K videos or large photo libraries, while also providing high transfer speeds.
This USB-C flash drive uses the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard and offers read speeds of up to 400MB/s. This provides fast data transfer, allowing users to transfer a 4GB 4K video file in just 9 seconds. It’s important to note that the 64GB version offers a slightly slower read speed of up to 300MB/s. It’s also backwards compatible with USB 2.0 for broader device support.
The flash drive comes in different capacities: 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The 512GB model can store an impressive 170,251 photos or around 24 hours of 4K video. The flash drive measures 33.7 x 15.9 x 6.4mm and weighs around 3.4 grams.
The flash drive has a sleek and stylish design with a modern body for comfortable use. It is available in two colors: Aurora Blue and Mystic Black.
More importantly, the drive prioritizes durability. Samsung boasts water resistance, shock resistance, magnetic resistance, ability to withstand extreme temperatures, and X-ray protection. This ensures users can safely transfer their data even in harsh environments. The product also comes with a five-year limited warranty.
The USB-C interface ensures the smooth operation of various USB-C devices, including laptops, tablets, smartphones and cameras.
Samsung is also adding Magician software to the drive. This software allows users to verify product authenticity, monitor drive health, and benchmark drive performance. The software is compatible with Windows and macOS operating systems.
