Shanghai-based Autoflight is conducting flight tests as it continues to develop the Prosperity I eVTOL air taxi. The company released a video showing the entire test flight.
The video shows the entire test flight from start to finish, including takeoff, hover, transition to direct flight, cruise flight with non-rotating vertical propeller, some roll, track speed over 180 km/h, then gradual switch to vertical propeller and landing.
This is the second eVTOL concept that Autoflight is currently testing “increased lift and cruise speed configuration, optimized lift propellers, and increased hover and cruise efficiency”. The company says it took about three months to build this full-size drone, and 30 successful flight tests have been carried out in recent weeks.
In its final form, the Prosperity air taxi promises to take four passengers up to 250 km at a cruising speed of 200 km/h. Autoflight plans to be operational by 2026, with certification from both the local Chinese authorities and the European EASA.
