Microsoft is experiencing an outage in Azure. Several portals are currently unavailable, including Entra, Azure, and Intune.
Two hours ago, reports of the first disruptions reached social media. Half an hour later, the first update from Microsoft followed. There was a disruption to the network infrastructure, especially in Europe. This is the latest status update from Microsoft:
We are investigating reports of connectivity issues with Microsoft services worldwide. Customers may experience timeouts when connecting to Azure services. We have assigned multiple technical teams to diagnose and resolve the issue. More details will be provided as soon as possible.
Among other places on Reddit, here and here you can find two busy threads where IT teams are all reporting issues. According to their reports, the Azure, Intune, Entra and Power Platform portals are difficult or impossible to reach. Most complaints come from Europe, but there are also users in the US who are unable to connect.
At 4 p.m. Microsoft will release a new update:
We have assigned multiple engineering teams to diagnose and resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We have identified multiple workstreams and are working to limit the impact to the workstreams by performing failover operations. More details will be provided as they become available.
A new update at 16:40:
To mitigate the situation, we have made changes to the network configuration and performed failovers to alternate network paths. Telemetry monitoring shows an improvement in service availability and we continue to monitor to ensure full recovery.
