iOS 16 was unveiled by Apple this week during WWDC 2022. Among the new features of the operating system, one of them went unnoticed during the presentation: the ability to transfer eSIM chip information from iPhone via Bluetooth.

The feature was revealed by Carlson Waldrop via Twitter, who spotted and disclosed the information to macrumors, a portal that specializes in Mac, Apple, and iPhone rumors. The ability to transfer information from one eSIM chip to another via Bluetooth with iOS 16 will make life much easier for users who need to switch devices.

iOS 16 introduces several new features

Apple’s new operating system brings a lot of news for users of Apple devices such as iPhones, tablets and even for those who use the Apple CarPlay app, which will have an updated look and feel and integration into the car’s digital dashboard.

Some of the biggest new features in iOS 16 are support for fixing messages that have already been sent. The operating system introduces the ability to edit content by marking the corrected message with the word edited. The novelty will be available for iMessage, as well as for the mail application.

Also new is full lock screen customization, including customizing colors, styles, background photos that show at different times, widget icons, and more. Apple also announced a new wallpaper gallery with screen design presets, including new animations when unlocking the iPhone. In addition, the company’s own artificial intelligence is able to analyze and suggest photos from the gallery that could serve as wallpaper.

Finally, iOS 16 will increase compatibility with video game controllers such as the Nintendo Switch Joy-con. This shows that the company is aiming to expand its efforts in the gamer market.
