‘El Mayo’ to remain in US jail without bail

“El Mayo” will remain in a U.S. prison without bail, federal Judge Ann Burton ordered yesterday Wednesday.

Burton noted that there are no “conditions” for Zambada Garcia’s release “that would reasonably ensure” his future court appearances or guarantee the safety of citizens.

According to a document filed in the Western District of Texas, a judge ordered “El Mayo” to be transferred to a prison where he will be isolated “to the extent possible” from people “awaiting or serving sentences or who are awaiting appeal.” (EFE and Reuters)
