Venezuelan court calls on candidates to audit votes

The Supreme Court of Venezuela (TSJ) has called on all candidates in the latest presidential elections to appear this Friday and begin the process of “verifying” the votes, as President Nicolás Maduro was also quoted as asking this week.

In this sense, he announced the opening of the “investigation and verification process for the unlimited confirmation of the official results”, announced on Monday by the CNE, when 20% of the protocols had yet to be scrutinized.

That is why the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court has summoned Edmundo González Urrutia – standard-bearer of the majority opposition – Javier Bertucci, Benjamín Rausseo, Daniel Ceballos, Claudio Fermín, Antonio Ecarri, Luis Eduardo Martínez, José Brito and Enrique Márquez, as well as Maduro, at 2:00 p.m. local time this Friday.
