Google has added a new feature to the Google Tasks program. Tasks lets you create reminders and to-do lists, and Tasks adds a simple yet powerful new feature that obviously should have been in the app before. This new feature lets you asterisk any task to highlight the importance of a particular task. For example, you can use an asterisk to indicate tasks that you consider as priority.

Other similar programs, such as Microsoft To-Do, also allow users to place a star next to a particularly important task to help them quickly find those that are more important than others.

When announcing the new feature, Google said: “We hope this update will make it easier for you to prioritize your tasks and quickly move on to important tasks in your projects.”.

It will be available to users of both desktop and mobile versions of Google Tasks. On the Google Workspace blog, the company wrote: «You can now star important tasks in Google Tasks. This is similar to functionality already available in Drive today».
